Lou de Wit is a creative engineer and designer

After completing his studies in construction engineering, Lou turned an ambitious hobby into a succesful career.
His passion for competitive sailing eventually led him to establisch his own business, comprising a sailmaking workshop and a trading company.

Initiallly, the cpmpagny operated mainly within the water-sports sector.
Following a period of significant growth, it expanded into other markets, supplying products tp industries such as the chemical and swimming-pool sectors.

Many of Lou's original designs - both technical and creative - found their way to customers.

Since handling over the company, Lou has had more time to devote to his creative work.
He uses a wide range of marerials, including metals, wood, plastics such as bakelit, PE, EVA and PVC, variou types of foam, natural stond, ceramic tiles, rubber, tectiles, paint, glass , clay spacers, billiard balls and more.

Rainbow flag. The secret life of colors.
In the late 70's, American artist Gilbert Baker designed the rainbow flag for the Gay Pride.
The flag initially had 8 colors with the following meanings;
Pink - sex, Red - life, Orange - healing power, Yellow - sunlight, Green - nature, Turquoise - magic,
Blue - serenity, Violet - character.
In the later version, with 6 jobs, Pink and Turquoise have expired.
The 6 colors must be LGBTI+ persons, all races and people who have died of AIDS or life

A large group of people, experience their bodies differently than their appearance.
This is widely known and, by some people, is still denied.
Sometimes through ignorance, but more often through traditions, faith or discrimination.
Coming out of the closet is often delayed too long and causes stress.
The social pressure can be very high and suffer from mental problems.
It even happens that people go back in the closet.
I have symbolically portrayed this battle, with struggling human figures on
the wavy waterlines, between the different colors.
Some people go down.
A few are struggling to keep their heads above water.
Others keep their heads proud above water and lead a full-fledged and creative life.
The strongest have enough energy to give others the helping hand.

The FOAMHOME chair consists entirely of EVA;

De stoel is verkrijgbaar met antraciet zijkanten, gecombineerd met antraciet, rood, groen en blauw.

EVA, een hoogwaardige rubber schuimsoort met gesloten cellen.
De stoel kan onder de douche, met een zachte borstel worden gereinigd.

Clay marbles are already known from Roman times.
They were combined with beeswax, used for sealing jugs, to exclude the insects.
Also in the Middle Ages, for the use of cork, they were widely used as a bottle stopper.
In the Middle Ages, they were used by the army as a practice ammunition.
Clay marbles were cheaper in production than lead or cast iron bullets.
Many unearthed clay marbles from the war and practice areas consist of shards.
Later, the smaller multicolored clay marbles were used as children's toys.
The clay marbles used are partially equipped with hydroch glaze.
They are partially affected by soil acids.
The used pottery marbles are bottom finds from Amsterdam and Nijmegen.
